Two stones of this size next to each other is an unusual thing to build. Most rings put one stone at the centre and use everything else to support it. This one gives equal weight to both, and lets the difference between them do the work — because a pear and an emerald cut don't behave alike.
The pear is a brilliant cut. Its facets are angled to bounce light in every direction, so it flickers constantly and never quite settles. The emerald is a step cut, with long parallel facets running the length of the stone. It flashes in broad clean sheets and, unusually, lets you look right into the body of the stone rather than at a scattered surface. One is movement. The other is depth. Together they give the ring two different personalities depending on the light.
They're set independently, each on its own claws with no shared metal, and tilted slightly toward each other so the pair feels related rather than matched. The band stays fine and plain, because at 4ct the stones are the design.
Aurora Moissanite sits at 9.25 on the Mohs scale, with a refractive index of 2.648–2.691 and 0.104 dispersion. Hard enough to wear every day, and cut to throw visible colour rather than plain white light.
